Shackelford VINELink Is Now IVSS
Texas launched IVSS-Counties on September 1, 2025. Older state brochures and search habits may still use the names VINE or VINELink, but the current county portal is IVSS-Counties. It integrates county jail and court notification with the state's post-conviction notification environment. The change matters because old instructions may send a user to a retired screen or describe steps that no longer appear.
TDCJ maintains a separate IVSS portal for people in state prison or on parole and mandatory supervision. A person can move from the Shackelford County Jail to TDCJ, so the correct portal depends on the present custodian. Neither portal is a universal record of all law-enforcement custody.
Search a Shackelford County Inmate
The county search accepts several identifiers. A full or partial name can work, but a common name should be checked against an ID and custody facts. The portal requires a CAPTCHA, which helps protect the live service from automated use.
- Open IVSS-Counties and select the person-search function.
- Enter a full or partial name, DOC ID, SID, Jail ID, or permanent booking number.
- For a full name, follow the screen's separate first-name and last-name format.
- Complete the CAPTCHA and run the search.
- Compare identifiers, current location, and custody information before choosing a result.
- Open the matched record and use the available notification action if an alert is needed.
If no match appears, check spelling and identifiers once. Then use the Sheriff's current inquiry and call dispatch. IVSS-Counties warns that a person may disappear from search after leaving custody. Absence therefore cannot distinguish release, transfer, delay, coverage, or an input error.
Shackelford VINELink Result Fields
The exact fields can vary by contributing agency and event. Treat each item as an aid to matching the person and choosing an alert, not as a certified booking-out record.

A released result is not guaranteed to remain searchable. A status change may arrive through an existing notification, while the person later vanishes from public search. Preserve the alert, note its time, and request the Sheriff's actual booking-out or transfer record.
For a county record, ask for the person's actual release date and time, release authority, release type or reason, and destination or receiving agency. Include the name, a suitable identifier, the arrest date, and a narrow date range. Texas retention schedule PS4200-10 expressly covers commitment, transport, transfer, booking-in, booking-out, and release orders, with a minimum retention of release or transfer plus two years. Online disappearance is therefore not the same as destruction of the source file.
Register Shackelford Release Alerts
Registration can be completed from a matched county record. The portal permits notification with or without creating an account. Use contact information controlled by the registrant, and review the selected person and event before submitting.

- Review the identity, event choices, and contact details.
- Complete any verification shown by the live portal.
- Save the confirmation or registration information.
- Call portal support at 866-268-8959 if registration fails or the county feed is offline.
Legacy VINE telephone instructions often required a four-digit PIN to acknowledge automated calls. Current official IVSS-Counties documentation does not establish one universal PIN flow. Follow the live screen if it asks for a PIN. Otherwise, complete its current verification and retain the confirmation rather than inventing an obsolete step.
Shackelford Alerts Can Outlast Search
The portal warns that a person who leaves custody may no longer appear in search. An existing registration can remain active if that person returns to custody. This is the distinctive local value of pairing the alert with the county source record: the alert can flag a change, while the Sheriff's release record explains what actually happened.
Do not delete a valid registration merely because a fresh name search is blank. Save the notice, note when it arrived, and call Shackelford County dispatch at 325-762-9555. Ask whether booking-out completed, the actual release time, and whether the exit was return to the community or transfer to another custodian.
The combined County and District Clerk can supply durable court context. A bond order, dismissal, judgment, sentence, or commitment may explain legal authority. It still does not replace the Sheriff's record of physical release.
Shackelford TDCJ Notification Search
Use TDCJ IVSS when a Shackelford case led to state prison, parole, or mandatory supervision. The service can offer notices concerning parole eligibility, Board action, bench-warrant release or return, prison discharge, prison release, and parole-warrant activity. Official contact methods include email, letter, text, combinations of those methods, and phone for some events.
Search the person in the TDCJ environment, select the desired events and contact methods, and confirm the registration. TDCJ Victim Services provides notification help at 800-848-4284 and victim.svc@tdcj.texas.gov. Notification details are described as confidential and should not be exposed.
A projected release date, a Board vote, and an actual release are three different events. TDCJ's public offender search contains only currently incarcerated people and is updated on working days with information at least 24 hours old. Historical release requires the completed TDCJ record, not a negative current search.
The state search accepts last name, first name, TDCJ number, SID number, gender, and race. A current detail may include the facility, projected release date, parole eligibility date, visitation eligibility, and offense information. A scheduled release date and location may appear once established. Even then, scheduled is not completed. Use TDCJ offender-information email, telephone, or Public Information Act routes to request an actual discharge date, release type, unit, and release certificate or summary when available.
Notification events should be chosen for the question at hand. A parole-eligibility alert reports a review milestone. A Board-action alert reports a decision. A prison-release or discharge alert reports a later custody event. Reading all three as interchangeable can create a false date. Keep the confirmation for each chosen event and compare any notice with the responsible agency's completed record.
Confirm Shackelford Release Beyond VINELink
IVSS is an alerting service, not a certified release record. Updates can follow agency processing. A release from one custodian may be a transfer into another. Always identify which system supplied the event and which agency received the person.
Federal Bureau of Prisons and immigration custody are outside Texas IVSS. The BOP locator can retain a federal release date and status. ICE's locator includes only some people released from ICE during a limited recent period. A Shackelford booking followed by an ICE detainer can end with transfer rather than community release.
The Shackelford County released inmate lookup sets out the full agency-and-record chain. For county custody, use the Sheriff's booking-out record plus the Clerk's order. For TDCJ, use completed state release records. For federal or immigration custody, switch to the responsible federal system.
Note: An IVSS alert should prompt verification, because it does not by itself establish the destination, release authority, or final supervision status.
Shackelford IVSS County Portal
The official IVSS-Counties portal is the current source for county search and notification registration.
The captured state interface confirms the current branding and search route. It should be used with live agency records when a custody event needs proof.
When the portal is unavailable or a participating jail cannot be reached through the interface, current IVSS-Counties help is available at 866-268-8959 around the clock. Give the operator the most precise identifier available, but do not treat telephone registration as a request for the Sheriff's underlying file. Notification support can help preserve an alert; only the jail and its records process can confirm Shackelford booking-out time, release authority, and destination.
Older Texas materials describe county VINE calls, texts, email, TTY notices, and a four-digit PIN. The current IVSS-Counties instructions do not make that PIN a universal step. Follow the live screen and retain the confirmation it supplies. If the current interface presents a PIN during a real registration, use that prompt. Otherwise, do not invent one from legacy guidance. This small difference prevents a failed registration and keeps the check tied to the system Texas now operates.
A separate Texas DPS registry search applies only when the person has a legal registration duty. A correct match can show an address, reporting agency, and qualifying offense, but it does not state the date of the latest Shackelford jail release. Most released people have no duty to appear there. Presence or absence in that registry therefore cannot replace the Sheriff and clerk record pair.
